This project began as a way for me to explores religion as a cultural phenomenon, as something so influential that there are over a dozen churches on one street in my hometown in Virginia. It also explores the subject as something that can both be frightening and comforting, depending on who’s looking. Due to the nature of risograph printing, the photos tendlook sharper from further away, and seem to deteriorate the closer you look, as the layers of link are never perfectly aligned. I think a lot of things can tend to break down if you look too closely at them.
